New research is showing that we may be doing better at maintaining after the weight comes off then previously thought. And the research points to a few key elements that the majority of maintainers do on a regular basis to keep the weight off and one of those is exercise. If you want to maintain your weight then here is how to go about exercising.
Exercise for Weight Loss Maintenance
Few people know that there is a national registry of people who have lost weight and kept it off. To be considered for inclusion in the registry you must have been overweight or obese at one time and then lost a minimum of 10% of your body weight and maintained that loss or continued to lose for at least one year.
These adults are then surveyed to find out what makes them stay successful and the majority of those surveyed said that they get regular exercise during the week. The possibly surprising fact about was that they are not doing heavy exercise in fact the majority revealed that they walked almost daily to maintain their weight.
Any form of exercise will help your body burn calories and keep your systems such as your circulation, breathing and digestive systems working well and this contributes to a healthy lifestyle.
If your goal is weight loss maintenance then you will want to make exercise a priority in your life. Get started and I promise that your body will thank you.
